Employee Assistance Work Life Program (EAP) An Employee Assistance Program addresses the effects of employee personal problems as they impact productivity,
profitability and workplace saftety. HMSA offers a variety of EAP models that can be customized to fit the needs of our client
organizations. Our standard program models are as follows:
Direct Program (resource and referral service) provides a diagnostic assessment and referral
Managed Behavioral Health Care (MBHC) HMSA's case-managed Behavioral Healthcare Care services direct individuals into
treatment modalities based on clinical need in order to prevent costlier or
less effective treatment approaches. Under Behavioral Managed Healthcare, HMSA can manage 100% of all levels of care from referrals,
per-certification, ongoing authorization and discharge planning.
Campus Assistance Program & Notification System (CAP) The Campus Assistance Program services combine behavioral care services with
automated alert systems to augment existing campus security efforts. Dedicated Toll-Free 24 hour crisis line.
Diagnostic Assessment plus up to 5 face to face telephonic short term problem resolution sessions.
Central Diagnostic & Referral (CDR) Services Central Diagnostic & Referral (CDR) services work in concert with front-line EAP
staff to direct clients to clinically-appropriate treatment options. In this program, the CDR will complete a comprehensive diagnostic assessment, determine a
differential diagnosis, coordinate benefits and assist with placement into treatment.
